Tomas Barfod: Love Me

Danish Tomas Barfod has long been publicly known mainly as a drummer of Copenhagen formation WhoMadeWho. His solo career of a skilled producer of dance music, showed up on media surface few years ago – since then, however, Barfod managed to adapt to the world stage as coveted DJ and especially as the author of one of the most melancholic and warmest forms of contemporary house music.

Barfod debuted in 2012 by album Salton Sea, which is followed by „the album of truth“ Love Me – and the truth is, that it is really hard not to love its creator. In the good tradition of Trentemöller´s techno, Barfod opens a fluffy fan on his dance beats, which grows on the listener with each listen – almost in every song he is supported by guest vocalist, among which the forefront keeps now almost court singer Nina K. Barfod´s strength does not lie in epic chord progreesions or dense beat – his true talent is revealed gradually, with soft percussive nuances, gradually revealing melodic layers. This discreet spirit mingles throughout the whole album Love Me – miss this peace in the sea of surrounded production would, however, be really a shame. Tomas Barfod is really playing to „dance and listen.“
