Carly Rae Jepsen: E•MO•TION

Canadian pop singer and songwriter Carly Rae Jepsen is in the pop-oriented world remembered for her most played, most successful, most parodied and most imitated single of 2011 – Call Me Maybe. The rising star emerged from a talent contest Canadian Idol and is certainly not just an author of a random and Internet-fueled hit – and her current and already third album is undoubtedly a proof of that.

Album E•MO•TION represents a significant qualitative leap from the previous records – right from the first single Run Away With Me we see a character of Carly Rae Jepsen as a ready-author of quality pop. Sophisticated and by sound fairly current production fits perfectly to Carly´s colorful voice and this dance-minded album flows through ears and dancing floor without deaf points. The singer, whose idols are Robyn, La Roux or Kimbra, declared that she really did a hard work with her production team – evidenced by the fact that more than 250 songs were created during studio sessions. Of these, 12 appear in the final form of E•MO•TION; each with a clear hit potential. However, that is now, opposed to Call Me Maybe, not a result of a chance, but careful and unhurried work. If you are looking for accessible and simultaneously contemporary quality pop, the last album of Carly Rae Jepsen is one of the possible solutions.
